These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the purchase and use of services provided by Edgar Lau Racing. By purchasing any service through this website or participating in any activity, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Offered

Edgar Lau Racing provides the following services:

  • Full-day driver coaching
  • SCCA novice permit evaluations

All services are instructional and evaluative in nature. No guarantees are made regarding lap times, performance improvement, race results, or licensing approval.

2. Booking & Scheduling

  • Services must be purchased in advance through this website.
  • Scheduling is coordinated via email after purchase.
  • Customers are responsible for registering separately with the track day or racing organization.
  • Services are subject to track availability, event rules, and organizer approval.

3. Payment Terms

  • Full payment is required to reserve a service date.
  • Services are charged as full-day rates, not hourly.
  • Prices may change without notice.
  • Edgar Lau Racing reserves the right to refuse service at its discretion.

4. Cancellations & Credits

All services are non-refundable. Cancellation credits may be issued as follows:

  • 30 days or more before the scheduled date: 100% credit
  • 30–14 days before the scheduled date: 50% credit
  • 14–7 days before the scheduled date: 25% credit
  • Less than 7 days: No credit

Credits:

  • May be applied toward future services
  • Are non-transferable
  • Have no cash value

Weather does not qualify for refunds or credits unless the track or event is officially closed.

5. Track Days & Third-Party Events

  • Edgar Lau Racing does not organize track days unless explicitly stated.
  • Edgar Lau Racing is not responsible for cancellations, delays, or changes made by track day or racing organizations.
  • Customers must comply with all rules and requirements of the hosting organization.

6. Safety & Eligibility

  • Participants must meet all safety, experience, and eligibility requirements set by the track or event organizer.
  • Vehicles must be mechanically safe and pass required technical inspections.
  • Edgar Lau Racing reserves the right to suspend or terminate services if safety concerns arise.

7. Assumption of Risk

Motorsport activities are inherently dangerous. By participating in services provided by Edgar Lau Racing, you acknowledge and accept all risks associated with high-performance driving, including injury, vehicle damage, or death.

Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Edgar Lau Racing is not liable for personal injury, death, vehicle damage, or property loss.
  • Edgar Lau Racing is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Participants remain solely responsible for their driving decisions and vehicle condition.

A separate on-site liability waiver must be signed prior to participation.

9. Data, Video & Equipment

  • Data and video equipment are optional and may be used to enhance instruction.
  • Light data and video systems (e.g., Garmin Catalyst or AiM systems) may be provided when applicable, depending on vehicle compatibility and event rules.
  • Edgar Lau Racing is not responsible for equipment compatibility issues, data loss, or malfunctions.

10. Media Use

Unless opted out in writing prior to the event, participants grant Edgar Lau Racing permission to use photos or video captured during services for promotional and marketing purposes.

11. Changes to Services or Terms

Edgar Lau Racing reserves the right to modify services, pricing, or these Terms at any time. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
